In my 40s, I experienced some emotional turbulence. That’s a polite way of saying I danced a few duets with mild to moderate depression—particularly in the winter (hello, seasonal affective disorder).

It wasn’t debilitating—not manic or anything like that. But it was enough that it prevented me from fully enjoying life.

It took me a while to learn how to cope with this issue. But I’m happy to report that I’m no longer plagued by sadness as I once was. I found a combination of things that work for me, including exercise, diet, a therapy light (which I highly recommend), a few self-help books, a mantra, and Origins.

I’ve noticed a change for the better in my mood since I started taking Origins. Not a “night and day” kind of difference. It’s subtler than that, but it’s definitely there. The lows don’t seem as low, and they don’t seem to come as frequently as they used to. I still get bummed out occasionally. But that’s normal. Everybody has good days and bad days.

I think Origins has helped me reach that “happy medium.” I don’t walk around with a goofy grin on my face. Nor do I walk around like Eeyore, either. I just feel like I can handle whatever life throws my way, no matter how good the news is, or how bad.

I know Origins’ label doesn’t specify anything about mood, and I’m not claiming it’s a wonder drug or anything like that. Your experience may be like mine, or different. What works for you may or may not have the same effect on me, and vice versa.  I’m just sharing my experience. And my experience is a good one. I hope yours is too.
